I have always wanted a 1:50 scale crane, but didn't want to pay so much for one. I found a nice compromise and found this 300 ton crane on the Alibaba app and the price was affordable. besides a broken jib stop it was in brand new condition. I would say this is a awesome model for what your paying. Shipping from China to Texas was $30 USD

Started taking the saw apart and its in better shape than what i had thought. The pull start clutch is working fine after i had thought there was a problem.. you just have to pull it like your starting a jet engine. Gas tank is being cleaned with apple vinegar cider, baking powder and distilled water. Lots of spark from the plug.

    My rewind doesn’t catch a flywheel cuz the rewind hoisin where it engages with the flywheel is worn out about 1/8” and the rewind teeth can’t catch into it now. Do you know any places where to buy parts or any similar engines that have interchangeable parts?

      Google search “tecumseh ah58 chainsaw pull start assembly” and you’ll find probably what you’re looking for. eBay has a entire saw just for parts for like $75

      I still have it tucked away in the corner of the shop. It needs a new battery and a good tune up and it will be ready to go. Just have a lot going on lately.

      Thanks. In other videos I load about 200lbs of sand into it to get it down to the water line. Definitely handles much better

      I still have it but the battery needs to be replaced. I have so many other things going on I just haven’t had time to get to it. One of these days I need to get it out.       I have gone for about a hour and then I have a second battery that I can switch between. Battery’s will definitely outlast the use you want to get out of it for the day

      The window switch was first used. Now it has a motor controller. I have a video of the wiring

      Yeah it does as I thought the same thing but big ships don’t move fast and it’s plenty of power to move it.

    40:1 would have been fine so it don't smoke like a bastard. That ratio was for 60+ years ago. Needs a new diaphragm and you should be good

      Haha the wife definitely knows when I fire it up, makes me shower off the smoke. I never did take the carb apart but a good overhaul on it probably would run better. But right now she fires right up every time. Been a while so I should fire it up today.

      @@scratchbuiltdozer ya, use Lucas 2 cycle mix at 40:1 or 32:1 at the most. Lean out the low side jet on the carb maybe, should run much better. I rebuild these engines all the time and just trying to help.. oh and no ethanol fuel, get the tru fuel and mix it. The ethanol will kill it in no time. Technically a solid well tuned running chainsaw should not smoke at all. Want to see that beauty last for ya👍

      @@elioselectric468 I saw where you posted about rebuilding these engines. I have the same Tecumseh AH58 and I think it needs new reeds. I haven't taken it apart yet, but it's producing suction at the plug and pushing fuel backwards out the carb. Any ideas? If it is the reed can I buy/make them?

      I got a big roll of paper and layout the sketch seen from above. I had all my mechanical parts and placed them of the drawing and started cutting the parts out starting with the center keel. Then I built the ribs. After the ribs I used 1/2 foam board and molded it around the shape and finally put a few layers of fiberglass. I did look at quite a few model building pictures and videos and that definitely helped a lot.

      Check out my other montage video that has a lot of pictures for reference. I bought most of my electronics from: harbor models com. I had no special tools and used a jig saw to cut out all of my parts.

      The longshoremen are terrible at weight distribution haha. It all depends on where I sit. When Im not in it I add 200lbs of ballast and then it rides nice and level.

      That’s great , yeah I wished you added weight when u were sitting in it for the video. Make her level . By the looks you would have to sit quite far past centre line to level her which will give you minimal leg room is all

      It’s a magic model ship mate , the ultimate where u can sit on her , so cool man , do you have any tug boats yet to push you around. I have a 10 foot lovely detailed model ship. At 1/100 scale her name is called the iron pacific. Would be so cool to have tug boats to help berth you

      Watched other ship building videos and seen if you build higher than wide you will most likely have it tip over. My model is wide and somewhat flat. I also knew I had to add ballast just like real ships. I have to add 200lbs to it get it to sit right in the water or else the prop will be half out of the water. I use sandbags. Smaller models use led shot bags. I’ve seen others where they have water tanks and fill them up with water from the lake they are at.
